FOOD DRIVE

Fun was had by all as a LARGE group of local bikers met to take the TAMA donation to the Virginia Beach Food Bank Sunday afternoon.
We all met at noon at Fudruckers and rode en-mass down Virgina Beach Blvd to the drop off station.

It was great.. lots of pipe noise.

Upon arrival, everyone dismounted their bikes, unloaded their saddlebags (full of food) and presented the $1000 we had earned this year to support the drive.

HILLBILLY and I were the only ones present to represent CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS MOTORCYCLE MINISTRY... so the other slackers didn't get in on the blessing!
LOL

SLIM JIM RIDE - BIKER DOWN

Howdy Friends,
We have a great turnout for our SLIM JIM MEMORIAL RIDE, this past weekend (Saturday).  It was a gorgeous day for riding and picnicing and donating to a very worthy cause... downed bikers.  And YES.. I need to get the banner updated to MM!!!

The irony is.. we had a downed biker during OUR RIDE!!!
(I am recounting this from eyewitnesses... I was not there)

It wasn't 5min into the ride, traveling approx. 55mph.  Some freak-of-nature didn't tie down some lawn chairs in the back of his truck... they blew out.  The minivan directly behind him slammed on her brakes and stopped in the middle of the highway... our group of riders was directly behind the minivan.

Everyone slammed on their breaks and signaled for an immediate stop.. everyone skidded to a wicked fast stop... but Jackie lost control of her bike (front brake lock up??? we don't know).. the bike dumped hard on it's LEFT side.  She hit the street hard..and broke her wrist and got a nasty cut on her forehead and lip.  The bike landed on it's left side at first, throwing Jackie off, and then popped back up.
Ghost rider!!!
Bikes don't go too far with noone on them.. so it slammed back down on the highway on it's RIGHT side this time... slid approx. 180feet.

Praise the Lord noone else was hurt.
Half of the group rode to the hospital, others proceeded to the endpoint.

We all prayed for Jackie and hope she recovers quickly.
Thank you Lord for sparing her life.

God Bless America

COOK OUT SUCCESS!

All is well!
We had a great cookout today at Johnny SMILEYs place today!
Congratulations to PSYCHO, WAYNE and POBOY for riding their motorcycles to the cookout!
You ROCK!  My bike is in the shop with repairs so I had to drive, but turned out OK since I hauled a bunch of food.
Also thanks to HILLBILLY for brining the grill and hamburgers!
Special appearance was made by TENNESSEE and Jake in tow.

We checked out the possibilities of a club-house at SMILEY's property:  The first place that we thought was going to be a great spot turned out to be waaaaaaay too small, even if we cleared out all the tools and stuff in it.  We need a much bigger place to gather.
So we wandered around his 4.5 acres and took a look into some of the other out-buildings.
We located one that is further back on the property.. but need EXTENSIVE cleaning and work.
This is our best option currently.

We are going to need SEVERAL cleanup and building days to make this happen, but it does have POTENTIAL.  That was the word for the day!  POTENTIAL.
If you look past all the junk piled up in the place, it really had tons of room and 3+ brick walls and timber construction... so we may just go for it.
I personally was a little depressed by the sight but kept a relatively good attitude and the others chimed in with, "Let's go for it."
So... you will get updates as we go.

First things first.. we need a huge dumpster delivered and a crew that has a positive attitude and FOOD!

Other than that.. there is nothing to report.

POW-MIA Recognition Day

The United States’ National POW/MIA Recognition Day is observed across the nation on the third Friday of September each year. Many Americans take the time to remember those who were prisoners of war (POW) and those who are missing in action (MIA), as well as their families.

Please remember, there are still Families, Mothers, Fathers, Daughters, Sons, Grandmothers, Grandfathers, Aunts, Uncles & Friends that will never know what happened to their loved ones.

Not only Vietnam but WW-I, WW-II, Korean, Desert Storm, today's current conflicts & others you will never know about..  ..SO DON’T ASK.

Just PRAY.
God Bless America.

SLIM JIM RIDE - DATE CHANGE

Listen Up!!!  I was at TAMA last night and when we came around to reviewing October… OUR RIDE WAS OFF THE TAMA CALENDAR!  That’s right.. they had accidentally removed it when we cancelled our LAST ride (back in July).  Since NO ONE went to TAMA last month, no one knew it was OFF the calendar.  There I was passing out flyers for our ride and it wasn’t even on the calendar (which is a big no-no as far as TAMA is concerned – Don’t try this at home.)
Anyway.
Water under the bridge.
I fixed it.
Another group missed the meeting 3times in a row - and got 3’X’s, which means their date freed up for us… I grabbed it.

OUR NEW DATE FOR THE SLIM JIM MEMORIAL RIDE IS NOVEMBER 20TH.
Please put this on your calendars.

Nuff said.
Over and Out.

PSYCHO’s NEW Bike

Well - Here it is!!!
Word on the street is that PSYCHO ‘SLEEPS’ on his new bike.  LOL.
He purchased (or is in the process of purchasing, aren’t we all) a new ride.
It’s a Honda something-or-other (I forgot. So you can ask him yourself!).
He’s got the thing making more noise than most of the HD’s in the group.
He’s riding it everywhere he goes!  And is loving it.  He had been jonesin’ for a bike since his Triumph started falling apart, I mean needed some repairs.

Truth be known.. most of the HD’s in the group are DOWN right now.
I swear.. I’m going to start WAVING the monthly dues for anyone that RIDES to the meetings!
Starting in JANUARY!  Yep, that’s it… see if that makes you get your bike up and running!  HAH!

Anyway.. watch out for PSYCHO out there on the highways and bi-ways… he is riding fast and you can’t stop him!

SEPTEMBER 11 - NEVER FORGET

ALL SOLDIERS AND CHRISTIANS,
Take a moment to pray for our country Saturday September 11, 2010.

It's been 9 long years since the tragic events and attack on our country.. but it's been 2010 years of the ENEMY attacking the church and our very souls.

Pray that God would stir up Christian men and women that drop their own agendas and truly follow Christ with their whole hearts.  It's time for a real revival in this country and it has to start in OUR hearts first.

Blessings to you and your family.
GOD BLESS AMERICA

2nd Annual EPIC Ride 5-22-2010

Brother Boogie got us all started by blessing us with his music, check him out on MYSPACE.

Chapter Two was a co-sponsor with Wings in the Wind MM this past saturday for the 2nd annual EPIC ride. EPIC is a non-profit organization that helps mothers who are thinking about abortion. It's supported completly by donations from groups and individuals. Last year we helped raise over $3,ooo.oo on the ride. Not sure about this year until all the pledges and monies are counted. We had 47 bikes show up for the ride, thats not bad when you consider there were around 5 other rides scheduled for the same day!! We had a law enforcement escourt about half way and then they blocked traffic the rest of the ride...A different feeling when the blue light is in front of you instead of behind you !!! Look forward to next year when we have over a hundred bikes, maybe C1 can put it on their calendar.... God bless you all and hope to see many of you in July for the next National meeting. Enjoy the pics. A brother from S.C

70th CHDDA SPRING RALLY

Greetings from C2, we went to the 70th CHDDA SPRING RALLY in New Bern, North Carolina this past Saturday. Remember it use to be in Myrtle Beach, SC. I can only give you my personal opinion, and that is I wish would have saved my money !! It was really sad.... a handful of vendors.....lousy band.....some dirt drags...and nothing else. On the positive side there was at least six Christian Groups there !! Also some local Clubs and one 1% Club. And praise God our National Chaplian PREACHERMAN went up to their President and introduced himself and invited him and his Club to our Church and to our next Biker Sunday!! The Great Commission in action !! I left the Bike Rally and went to downtown New Bern to a car show and took a few pics, also a few at the bike rally. Look and enjoy, God Bless you all...

IT'S OFFICIAL

It's official.. CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS is now a MOTORCYCLE MINISTRY.

We have gone thru the painstaking process of praying, voting and approval and most grueling of all.. acquiring patches!

At first there was some resistance to changing away from a Christian Brotherhood. But after close observation, we noticed that the riding group was turning into just a hangout club.  Guys were driving trucks and cars to the meetings, not going on any of the local rides and basically not taking our club seriously.  Half of them didn't have working motorcycles and didn't care to get them up and running.
Well those times are OVER!  You actually have to own a running motorcycle to join us!  Hah.. imagine that?!

We will always be 'brothers', but the focus is now off ourselves and onto JESUS CHRIST.
We are gearing up for more MINISTRY outreach and being lights in the world rather than a bunch of burned out lightbulbs.

Thank you all who have encouraged us to move forward with this decision and also for your many prayers.
We continue to covet your prayers as we look to God for our daily bread and as we keep an eye out for what HE is doing in our community.. at which time, we will promptly join Him in His work.

God Bless You Everyone,
(Hmmm... sounds like something I'd say around Christmas time?)
